This article details the reinstallation of the FileCabinet CS print driver on a single workstation and includes steps for installing the print driver in a terminal server environment.

Installing the print driver

Follow these steps to reinstall the FileCabinet CS print driver. If you are having issues with the installation of the print driver, you may need to perform additional pre-installation steps, such as disabling the antivirus programs, running the installation in Safe Mode, disabling User Account Control Settings, and/or ensuring that the print driver is being installed with an administrator account.

  1. Navigate to the <X>:WincsiCabinetDesktop,where X is the local or network drive that contains WINCSI. If FileCabinet CS was installed in a different folder, navigate to that folder.
  2. Right-click Setup.exe and choose Run as Administrator from the context menu.
  3. When the FileCabinet CS WorkStation Installation window appears, verify that the FileCabinet CS Print Driver checkbox is marked in the Other Installation Options section.

Uninstalling the Print Driver

Follow these steps for the local print driver:

  1. Click the Startbutton.
  2. Click Devices and Printers.
  3. Right-click the FileCabinet CS Printer and choose Remove Device from the context menu.
  4. Click the Startbutton and then click Control Panel.
  5. Click Programs and Features. The path there depends on whether Control Panel is in Category, Small icons or Large icons view.
    1. In the Category view, click Uninstall a program under Programs.
    2. In theSmall iconsor Large iconsview, click Programs and Features.
  6. Locate the FileCabinet CS Print Driver, select it and then click Uninstall above the list of programs.
  7. When the Uninstall window opens for the FileCabinet CS Print Driver, click Next.

Windows 8 / 10

  1. Hold down the WinKey and press X.
  2. Select Control Panel.
  3. Click Devices and Printers. The path there depends on whether Control Panel is in Category, Small icons or Large icons view.
    1. In the Category view, click Views devices and printers under Hardware and Sound.
    2. In the Small iconsor Large iconsview, click on Device and Printers.
  4. Right-click the FileCabinet CS Printer and choose Remove Device from the context menu.
  5. Hold down the WinKey and press X.
  6. Click Control Panel.
  7. Go to Programs and Features. The path there depends on whether Control Panel is in Category, Small icons or Large icons view.
    1. In the Category view, click Uninstall a program under Programs.
    2. In the Small iconsor Large iconsview, click on Programs and Features.
    3. Locate the FileCabinet CS Print Driver, select it and then click Uninstall above the list of programs.
    4. When the Uninstall window opens for the FileCabinet CS Print Driver, click Next.

Installing the FileCabinet CS Print Driver in a Terminal Server environment

Make sure that the terminal server is in install mode when the administrative account is being used to make changes for all of the user accounts on the server.

To enable install mode, follow these steps:

  1. Click Start, click All Programs, and then click Accessories.
  2. Right-click Command prompt, and then click Run as administrator.
  3. Type change user /install and press the Enter key.

After the changes have been made, you must return the server to execute mode. To do so, go back to the administrative command line session and type change user /execute.

Note: It may be necessary to stop the Print Spool service by following these steps:

  1. Hold the WinKey down and press R.
  2. Enter services.msc.
  3. Highlight the Print Spooler.
  4. Click Stop the service in the upper-left corner.
  5. After the changes have been made, go back to the window and click Startthe service to start the Print Spooler and get printing services back.

Free Driver For Printer

Note: There is a printer database file that is associated with the FileCabinet CS Print Driver. This file is typically located in one of two following areas:

  1. C:WindowsSystem32spoolprtprocsx64csintprt.pdb
  2. C:WindowsSystem32spoolprtprocsx86csintprt.pdb

It may be required to delete this file. Deleting the file will clear all data that is waiting to be printed to FileCabinet CS.

Sometimes Adobe PDF printer doesn’t get installed with Acrobat Standard DC installation.

Solution: Repair Acrobat installation or add the printer manually

To resolve the problem, try the following solutions in the order they appear below.

Acrobat DC—or the resources it depends upon—could be damaged. Try repairing the product using the step below.

  1. Run repair from within Acrobat Acrobat DC: Choose Help > Repair Installation.

  1. Click Start > Control Panel > Devices and Printers.

  2. In the Add a Device dialog box, select Add a local printer. If the option is not visible, click The printer that I want isn't listed.

  3. In the Add Printer dialog box, select Add a Local Printer or Network printer with Manual Settings.

  4. Select Use an existing port option and select Documents*.pdf (Adobe PDF) from the drop-down list. Click Next.

  5. Click Have Disk. Click Browse and then navigate to the location - C:Program Files (x86)AdobeAcrobat <version>AcrobatXtrasAdobePDF

  6. Select AdobePDF.inf from the list. Click Open and then click OK.

  7. You see many Adobe PDF Converters on the list. Count six down from the top and select the printer. Click Next (you may have to try this multiple times to find the correct Converter from the list that works with your version of Windows).

  8. Name your printer as Adobe PDF. Follow onscreen instructions to complete the installation.
